The Pinecone Forest Nature Sanctuary is an eco-friendly retreat where individuals, families and groups can experience nature in a majestic forest setting. Located on the York River and Conroys Marsh, the scenery and wildlife are spectacular year round.

Need a place to overnight on your river trip down the York?
Our group camping area is ideal for paddlers who are tripping down the York River from Bancroft and Egan Chute Provincial Waterway Park and need a secure place to overnight. This location is about 1 km below the Slabtown bridge. Good well for drinking water, firewood included.

Looking for an eco-friendly camping experience?
This site is perfect for paddlers wishing to explore Conroys Marsh and the York River, and want to use The Pinecone Forest as a jumping off spot for day-trips. There are four tentsites to choose from, each nestled among towering pines, accessible by foot path to a communal campfire area where you can prepare your meals. Firewood and drinking water supplied.

Tentsites are strategically placed in a forest setting, surrounded by towering trees. Each tentsite has its own private setting with level ground for pitching your tent.

Good source of drinking water and firewood at a central, communal area with firepit.

Sites are ideal for paddlers coming down the York River or exploring Conroys Marsh. Sites should be booked in advance whenever possible.

$30.00/tentsite/night.
Includes full access to the trail system and to Conroys Marsh.

As a nature sanctuary, fishing, hunting, motorboats, ATVs, snowmobiles and pets are not permitted. Although we cannot control what happens outside The Pinecone Forest, we offer peace and tranquility for all our guests and the forest creatures within our boundaries.
